One of Amenhotep III's greatest achievements was the Temple of Amun. The temple shows Amenhotep's birth from the god Amun. Amenhotep died at the age of 50. His tomb was built in the Valley of the Kings. His mummy was recovered in the Royal cache that was found in the tomb of Amenhotep II.
The Colossi of Memnon are all that remains of the burial temple of Amenhotep III. The temple was broken down, so that the stone could be reused in building other nearby temples.
