The end of the school year can be a busy time for teachers and students. At times like this, it is perfectly okay for teachers to create artwork for bulletin boards. The teacher made the colorful sailboats and asked each student to relate a favorite memory from the school year. The teacher quickly typed these as the students described the event. The favorite memories were then cut into small rectangles that could be glued to the sailboats.
This bulletin board was really eye-catching. Everyone who turned the corner and saw the bulletin board for the first time just stopped and stared. The blue background made the boats look like they are genuinely floating away. The large palm tree added a tropical touch, making the viewer feel that summer was coming.
This project was not only a way for students to reflect on their favorite memories but also a way to share these with their peers. Students loved reading and reminiscing about their favorite moments during the past year.
One way to enhance this project is to have students illustrate and write a detailed descriptions of their favorite memories. They could also reflect on achievements they accomplished and write goals for the next school year
